Overview

CDPHE manages the Medication and Sharps Take Back Programs, aimed at increasing proper diversion of household medications and sharps (needles). The program consists of medication household collection receptacles at participating law enforcement agencies, pharmacies, and clinics across Colorado. The sharps or needles take back program aims to reduce improper needle disposal in public places through collection kiosks along the Front Range.
